This
month's featured artist, Denise Currier, is well known to many fiber
artists throughout Arizona and nationally with
a long list of
exhibitions,zona
Mayo Clinic, Shemer Art Museum, Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport Museum, NFL
Atlanta Falcons and Arthur M Blank Foundation (Georgia) and many other
Foundations and private art collectors. Denise is an award-winning
artist with over 38 years of art experience and professional sales in
multiple art mediums. She has lived and maintained an art studio in
Mesa, Arizona for over 31 years.
You
may remember that Denise was the curator for the ART Quilts XIX:
Permission to Play exhibition in Chandler, concurrent with our
Explorations exhibition. The theme she selected for the show reflects
her Artist Goals and Philosophy: "Many of my personal art aspirations
have been themes from occurrences with Life's complexities that have
afforded the permission to
play. Two different sides of my work lean towards the whimsical play
and the other reflects my studio interest influenced by the Desert and
Mountain ranges within I choose to live. ..." You have seen several
examples of these sides of her work as Denise is a gracious contributor
to our newsletter. Denise is sharing a few of her latest pieces
"Perfect Moment in Time" and "Christi in Africa" below. They are both
artistically beautiful and technically exceptional. Can't wait to see
them in person.
